Bali Tourism Officials Advise Visitors to Take Health Precautions Amid Dengue Fever Outbreak

Cases of Dengue Fever Surge in Popular Tourist Destination

Jakarta, Indonesia - Authorities in the popular Indonesian tourist destination of Bali have issued an advisory to foreign visitors, urging them to take precautions against dengue fever as the number of cases surges on the island.

Symptoms and Risks

Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne viral disease that can cause a range of symptoms, including fever, rash, headache, fatigue, and joint and muscle pain. In severe cases, it can lead to complications such as dengue hemorrhagic fever or dengue shock syndrome.

While most people who contract dengue fever experience mild or no symptoms, experts warn that it is possible to carry the virus without showing any signs of illness. This can pose a risk to others, as infected individuals can still transmit the virus through mosquito bites.
