LSG vs DC, IPL 2023: Lucknow Super Giants Beat Delhi Capitals by 6 Runs
Lucknow Super Giants registered their first win in the Indian Premier League 2023 as they defeated Delhi Capitals by 6 runs in their third match on Saturday, April 1, at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Batting first, Lucknow Super Giants posted a challenging total of 195/3 on the board. Skipper KL Rahul top-scored for the team with a brilliant 77 off 51 balls, which included eight fours and four sixes. Deepak Hooda also contributed with a valuable 52 off 34 deliveries.
In reply, Delhi Capitals fought hard but eventually fell short of the target, finishing at 189/7. David Warner was the highest scorer for Delhi, scoring 61 runs off 45 balls. Mitchell Marsh also played a crucial knock of 59 off 40 balls, but it wasn't enough to guide his team to a win.
Lucknow Super Giants' Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan were the pick of the bowlers, taking two wickets each. Jason Holder also chipped in with a wicket.
With this win, Lucknow Super Giants move up to the fifth position in the IPL 2023 points table, while Delhi Capitals are currently placed ninth.
The two teams will now face off again on April 7 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
